How much will it cost?

One of the most common questions we get from patients is how much is this going to cost me?  We've done our best here to give you an idea of what the costs are at our clinic so you can make an informed decision about becoming a patient.

How many visits will I need?

The number of visits a patient requires depends on the type of concerns a patient has, how much support a patient needs in making changes, and how quickly their body responds to changes.

What about recommended medicines?

Depending on your concerns, we may recommend you take homeopathics, herbal preparations, or supplements.  The cost of medicines depends on the type and amount chosen and agreed upon by both the patient and doctor.  We strive to offer patients treatment options that match their lifestyle and financial ability.

Fee Schedule

As of July 1st, 2022, the fee schedule has been adjusted to be in compliance with the centralized fee schedule set by British Columbia Naturopathic Doctors.  Fees must be within 10% of the set schedule, which is currently $201/hr.  We will continue to set our fee schedule below the recommended rate, as we feel that is reasonable and fair when considering the socioeconomic factors in our region.  We hope this is helpful to our patients in maintaining access to naturopathic care.

Fee Schedule as of July 1, 2022

Initial appointment (90 minutes) $270

Initial pediatric appointment (60 minutes) $180

Follow-up appointment (45 minutes) $135

Follow-up appointment (30 minutes) $90

Additional fees:

Written letter from one of our Naturopathic Physicians: Base rate of $35

(up to $50 for extensive letters)

Chart transfer fee: $15

(To cover admin time, including the cost of copying, faxing, and mailing charts.)

MSP Coverage

Individuals with premium assistance through the British Columbia Medical Services Plan (MSP) are eligible for reimbursement of $23 per visit for a combined annual limit of 10 visits per year for physiotherapy, massage therapy, chiropractic, naturopathy, and non-surgical podiatry.

How does this work?

When you come in for your visit, let the receptionist know you would like to claim the MSP subsidy for your visit.  We will submit a claim for you and you will receive a cheque from MSP in about a month. Make sure you bring your BC Care Card to the visit as we need it to submit the claim.

Extended Health Care

Most extended health care programs cover naturopathic visits.  The amount and type of coverage varies depending on the extended health insurer. We can submit your claim for you at the time of your visit if you are covered by an eligible insurer. Please inquire for further information.

Financial Policy - Dispensary

Our clinic operates a dispensary that provides nutraceuticals, botanical medicines, and homeopathics.  These are available only to patients of our clinic, or to individuals who provide a request from a licenced health care provider whose scope of practice allows for the recommendation.

Income from the dispensary is invested into our clinic support staff and extended health care plan, and helps cover the operating costs for the clinic.  Our naturopathic physicians do not receive a percentage of dispensary sales.  This policy is our effort to avoid conflict of interest or ethical concerns with the recommendations we make.  There is no obligation to purchase the recommended medicines from our clinic, though we truly appreciate the support if you choose to do so.
